The body map
Point to where it hurts.
Select a region on the figure, or from the list, and this page becomes about that part of the body: what we commonly see there, what a course of care looks like, and how many sessions it usually takes. We assess before we treat, and we will tell you plainly if physiotherapy is not the right first step.
Front view. Selected: Shoulder.
Moderate. Expect a mix of hands-on relief and graded loading in the same session.
Shoulder
Overhead work, gym pressing and badminton put a lot through the shoulder. Most shoulders respond well to graded loading once we know what is irritable.
- Rotator-cuff related pain from overhead work, gym or racquet sport
- Frozen-shoulder type stiffness that limits reaching behind the back
- Loss of confidence in the arm after a dislocation
- Assess first: movement, strength testing and what makes it better or worse
- Graded loading for the cuff and shoulder blade, progressed each visit
- Joint mobilisation and soft-tissue work, dry needling where it is appropriate
- Return-to-sport progressions for throwing, smashing and pressing
If the arm feels weak enough that you cannot lift it at all, or pain follows a fall, please see a doctor before starting rehab.
First visit
One hour, and you leave with a plan.
No packages sold at the door, no scan pushed before it is needed. If we think you need a doctor or an image first, we will say so and help you get there.
Assessment
History, what you actually need to get back to, and physical testing. We measure so we can compare later.
Treatment and plan
Hands-on work where it helps, plus the first two or three exercises done with you until they feel right.
Home programme
A short programme sent to your phone, with sets, reps and what a normal amount of soreness feels like.
Review
We retest the same measures. If nothing has shifted, we change the plan or refer you on.

Please read
This page is information about the care we offer. It is not medical advice and it does not diagnose anything. Everything here describes what we commonly see, not what you have.
We assess before we treat. If your problem needs a doctor, a scan or a specialist, we will tell you and help you get there.
If pain follows a fall or an accident, wakes you every night, comes with fever, unexplained weight loss, spreading numbness or loss of bladder or bowel control, please see a doctor first. If anything persists beyond 10 to 14 days without easing, get it checked.
